although i never intended this blog to be my own personal political commentary, it seems headed that way... i should have known better. why? national politics seems to be number one on my list of provocations that sends my thoughts on maximum overdrive.
so whats the latest on politics? chiz escudero bolting his political party of 11 years, the NPC. the party founded by marcos's numero uno crony danding cojuangco. i will probably write about this political party in my future posts. but for now, let us examine the reason given by chiz why he chose to leave the party that nurtured his political career...
chiz said yesterday, and i quote," anybody who wants to run for the presidency should have no allegiance to any political party, the party that anyone is aspiring to run under should be none other than the philippines and his partymates should be all filipinos".
ANO DAW? i have always been wary/suspicious of politicians who loves to play to the gallery and grandstand, all in aid of "re-election". of course, chiz has always been regarded as "glib", with good reason may i add. as with most pinoy politicians, talk is cheap.
what chiz is not saying of course is, when danding did not commit his billions to bankroll his presidential candidacy, to chiz, danding now becomes a liability. danding's role during the marcos' years and beyond has always been a liability to any political prodigy. BUT, trapos, young and old, would close their eyes to that fact and ultimately seek his annointment and bite the bullet for the greater prize...access to danding cojuangco's massive ill-gotten treasure chest!
mr cojuangco is no fool, why would he bet on a candidate who's numbers are continuing to slide, specially as those numbers are so low to begin with. huwag ka na magmalinis chiz, pareho lang naman kayo ni danding ng pinagmulan, kaya nga ang tagal nyo magkasama sa partido diba? ive always thought that the saying "birds of the same feather flock together" and " the fruit does not fall far from the tree" always ring true. we have to remember that chiz' father is marcos' former agrarian reform secretary.
chiz, do not pretend to be somebody that you are not. you a reformist? are you kidding me? like mr cojuangco, i am no fool. there are a lot people like me who knows your roots, the people you have associated and affiliated with in the past, the positions you have taken on issues. i can smell the reasons why you have taken those steps, on people and issues. you are no better than the average trapo. you love to hug the limelight, gravitate and surround yourself with people that could further your cause...the cause of having yourself elected president of this nation one day!
